The Coalition for the Energy of the Future unveils its first seven concrete actions

calendarFebruary 23, 2021
The Coalition for the Energy of the Future, established in late 2019, is committed to accelerating the growth of future energies and technologies to support green mobility models and reduce the environmental impact of transport and logistics. In 2021, the Coalition is set to achieve significant milestones with the development of its first seven projects. These include experimenting with hydrogen-powered fuel cell trucks in Europe, testing the first bio-crude oil dedicated to maritime needs, charting a path for bioLNG towards carbon neutrality, converting key elements in the supply chain into green self-sustained entities, developing a roadmap for zero-emission vehicles for road, air, and sea transportation, developing a digital eco-calculator to certify CO2 impact, and proposing a business plan for the conversion of ports into green multimodal hubs. In 2021, Airbus, Bureau Veritas, and PSA International joined the Coalition, bringing with them substantial resources and talent to help tackle the challenge of sustainable transport and logistics. They join other global companies such as AWS, Carrefour, CMA CGM Group, Cluster Maritime Français, Crédit Agricole CIB, ENGIE, Faurecia, Michelin, Schneider Electric, Total, and Wärtsilä in the Coalition. These members are recognized globally for their involvement in the emergence of technological innovations, and their addition to the Coalition will further bolster its efforts to fight climate change The Coalition for the Energy of the Future aims to achieve significant technological breakthroughs by 2030, with three main goals: unlocking a more extensive portfolio of clean energy sources, decreasing energy consumption per kilometer-equivalent of goods mobility, and reducing the proportion of emissions linked to transport and logistics. Supported by French President Emmanuel Macron and launched during the French Maritime Economy Conference, the Coalition continues to rally industry leaders from various sectors in its ambition to expedite the development of energies and technologies that will sustain new, lower-carbon models to reach carbon-neutral objectives in transport and logistics More details : Here
