The New Energies Coalition is proud to share its new report dedicated to "wind propulsion for ships", prepared in collaboration with the Wind Ship association.
This publication, which provides an overview of wind propulsion in maritime transport, is the result of the New Energies Coalition working group, which includes CMA CGM, Michelin, Bureau Veritas, and the French Maritime Cluster.
As global maritime transport accounts for 2.89% of global greenhouse gas emissions and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) aims for net-zero carbon by 2050, wind propulsion stands out as a free and immediately available energy source for maritime transport.
The topic was at the heart of two round tables during the 19th edition of the Assises de l'Économie de la Mer in Bordeaux on November 20 and 21. It is also the subject of a Wind Pact in France signed last March, with its second act held this Monday, November 18, with 40 representative signatories.
